I could say that I am a regular WOFEX (World Food Expo) visitor even if I don't have a food or coffee/beverage business, not only because this expo has kept me abreast of the newest trends in food products, but primarily because (aside from the "free tastes" of course) of some great buys that I could score, as well. At WOFEX, exhibitors usually give discounts... and prices of food products are usually lower than what the supermarkets offer. Here are some of my great finds and best buys at Wofex 2011 at the World Trade Center:
Crocs at 50% off!!! Although styles available were very very limited... You may wonder what Crocs was doing here in a Food Expo. Did you know that because Crocs has a Crocs Lock™ slip-resistant tread, its design and thicker metatarsal area helps protect foot from kitchen spills? It's also easy to clean with soap and water. The reason why Crocs has been awarded the Gold Seal at the World Culinary Championship for "most comfortable work shoe" from the Chef's In America organization
Frico Edam Cheese sold at 2 for P150 (this is available in the supermarkets at P170/pc!)
Goody products at 20% off!!
Tong Garden Nuts
Different types of mushrooms from Prime Fresh Harvest.
Salmon from Cold Storage Seafood
Caffe Mauro (I bought a 500-gram pack at 10% off) from Italy is the best coffee I've ever tasted. They said that this Italian Coffee is slowly-roasted that's why it has a distinct aroma and chocolatey flavor.
Torani Syrups, which you normally find in coffee shops, can actually enhance the flavor of your coffee, tea, lemonades, cocktails, or whatever beverage for that matter...
Vignette Wine Country Soda - a refreshing non-alcoholic, lightly-carbonated, sugar and preservative-free beverage.
And Arizona Tea, a very popular beverage brand in the US, has just the right taste and sweetness - no artificial flavor and no preservatives.
WOFEX 2011 runs until August 6, 2011 at the World Trade Center and SMX Convention Center.
