I received below email recently ... and just wanted to share and warn my fellow bloggers on emails like these. I panicked, at first....but the good thing was that I didn’t act impulsively, I did my research and hence, wasn’t taken in by this scam.
Dear Manager:
We are a Network Service Company
which is the domain name registration center in Anhui, China. On
July,20th,2011, We received HUNDI Company's application that they are
registering the name "manilashopper" as their Internet Trademark and
"manilashopper.cn","manilashopper.com.cn" ,"manilashopper.asia"domain
names etc.,It is China and ASIA domain names. But after auditing we found the
brand name been used by your company. As
the domain name registrar in China, it is our duty to notice you, so I am
sending you this Email to check.According to the principle in China, your
company is the owner of the trademark,In our auditing time we can keep the
domain names safe for you firstly, but our audit period is limited, if you
object the third party application these domain names and need to protect the
brand in china and Asia by yourself, please let the responsible officer contact
us as soon as possible. Thank you!

The company and their website yg-net.net might be legitimate, (I checked them
in whois.com and I have confirmed that it was indeed a registered name) but the problem is that they instigate fear to people just to be able to sell...which is a nasty selling tactic! Hence, this is considered a scam. This scam started back in 2006 yet (I think so, based on my research) and I don't know why until now, they still do this. Probably because they can still deceive some. Don't be one of them!!! Check

Wow. I would have fallen for this, thanks for the warning.
