One Day Without Shoes is TOMS’ annual day of awareness. Every year, hundreds of thousands around the world go without shoes to spread awareness of the impact a pair of shoes can have on a child’s life. For one day, an hour or even just a few minutes, TOMS encourages anyone to go barefoot or go about what they normally do but without shoes.
Last year over 4,000 events were held in more than 50 countries through the world. This year, TOMS Philippines, in partnership with Ayala Malls, Alabang Town Center, will host a barefoot walk around and outside the mall premises starting at Alabang Town Center Town Plaza on April 16, 2013 at 4:00pm. Be part of the movement by taking your shoes off and going on the barefoot challenge!
It starts with a single person, a simple act and continues with a child in need being acknowledged and ultimately, helped. This is day is not just about shoes, its about health, education, self esteem and hope for a better future.
Let’s take a step in helping children all over the world. Leave your footprint on April 16, 2013. Go without shoes so kids don’t have to.
About TOMS:
In 2006, American Traveler Blake Mycoskie befriended children in a village in Argentina and found that they had no shoes to protect their fee. Wanting to help, he created TOMS, a company that would match every pair of shoes purchased with a pair of new shoes given to a child in need. One for One. To date, TOMS has given over two million pairs of shoes to children through giving partners around the world. The Philippines is a recent beneficiary of shoes through TOMS giving partner WE International.
