Celebrate French gastronomy and sports! Goût de / Good France, introduced in 2015 by the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs in partnership with chef Alain Ducasse, is back in the Philippines this June 2024. Opening on Saturday, June 1, with a Weekend Market, and a festival of French gastronomy offered in some of the most fine dining restaurants in the country, prepared by the best Chefs, French and Filipino, it will provide Filipinos the opportunity to experience or discover some of the most iconic specialties of French cuisine.
On June 1 and June 2, 2024 the Goût de France Street market will offer residents and visitors of Makati a taste of French « street food », crêpes, pastries and other delights together with wines, liqueurs coffees and other beverages on the tree-lined Paseo Avenue along Ayala Triangle, the new address of the French Embassy to the Philippines (and Micronesia). The public will be entertained and introduced to the preparation of some French dishes as Chefs and apprentice chefs from Enderun, partner of the Ecole Ducasse in Manila, will conduct cooking demonstrations.
Meanwhile, with Paris hosting the Summer Olympics and Paralympic Games this year, celebrating Gastronomy and Sports, Goût de France will treat runners and bikers on Car-Free Sunday, June 2 on Ayala Avenue to a French breakfast of croissants and coffee at the French Market. To further entertain the public, a traditional race of waiters is being organized on the Sunday afternoon.
Some 20 French restaurants and major hotels are participating in Goût de France by offering a special Goût de France Menu for the whole week until Sunday, June 9, access the list of restaurants and their menus (subject for updates) 👉 HERE.
Meanwhile, a dégustation of wines from the Maison Bukana will take place on June 13 at the Marketplace Supermarket in Edsa Shangri-La Plaza, in Mandaluyong, coordinated by the French Chamber of Commerce. Nadine Lustre, Filipina media personality is co-owner of the wines with French Christophe Bariou will present their produce.
Training new chefs in the Philippines, the Enderun Ecole Ducasse and Le Cordon Bleu Ateneo de Manila will offer one-day special cooking classes for individuals eager to learn how to make a basic beef bourguignon or a typical French pastry, or maybe a full course meal !
