The Philippine Postal Corporation (PHLPost) in collaboration with the Department of Agriculture (DA) will open its first Kadiwa pop-up store at the Central Mail Exchange Center (CMEC) compound along Domestic Road in Pasay City tomorrow, May 24, 2024 from 7:30AM to 5:00 PM.
Employees in Pasay City and residents along the area can have direct access to affordable fresh vegetables, affordable food and basic commodities. PHLPost has previously set-up similar Kadiwa stores in Olongapo City, San Fernando Pampanga, Tarlac City and Mariveles, Bataan.
The PHLPost Kadiwa Pop-up stores are envisioned to be held in all Post Offices and Postal areas nationwide in order to assist the employees and their families and residents in these communities.
“Ang PHLPost at DA ay laging handang tumugon sa mga komunidad at sa mga kawani na nagnanais na magkaroon ng mura at de-kalidad ng mga produkto mula sa mga magsasaka at mga maliliit na negosyo o MSMEs na ihahatid ng Kadiwa Pop-Up stores”.
“ Kami po at ang DA ay patuloy din sa pagpapatupad at pagpapalaganap ng adhikain upang matugunan ang food security ng bansa,” said Postmaster General Luis D. Carlos. “ We warmly welcome the opening of the Kadiwa store at CMEC in Pasay and in other post offices, recognizing its benefits for the entire community”, he added.
The goods being sold at the Kadiwa pop-up include potatoes and other assorted highland and lowland vegetables, fruits, rice, eggs, Balot, Penoy, salted egg, bottled products, chicharon bagnet, smoked fish, dried fish and bottled products (nature’s Juices/concentrated juice.
Through its Agribusiness and Marketing Assistance Service, the DA and PHLPost has been actively expanding Kadiwa outlets across Metro Manila and other areas in a bid to empower the farming communities through the establishment of a direct and efficient food supply chain.
